    About The Role
    As the Assistant Head of School, you will play a vital leadership role in driving both operational and educational excellence at our campus. Working closely with the Head of School, you will help lead all aspects of enrollment, school climate, staffing, compliance, curriculum quality, and family partnership to ensure a thriving, supportive environment for children, families, and faculty alike. This role is an excellent career pathway with strong growth potential toward becoming a Head of School, offering hands-on leadership experience and opportunities to deepen your expertise in all facets of school operations and education.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Supervisory Leadership: Lead the team in staffing and scheduling decisions. Partner with the Head of People to make key hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation decisions. Oversee performance reviews, mentor faculty, and cultivate a positive, collaborative team culture.

    • Curriculum & Instruction: Oversee the quality and implementation of curriculum and instruction with support from the Education Director, ensuring alignment with Vivvi’s educational philosophy.

    • Compliance & Safety: Act as the primary contact for compliance, licensing, and health and safety. Demonstrate deep knowledge of Article 47 regulations and Vivvi’s campus-specific protocols. Delegate daily operational tasks to guarantee smooth opening/closing, health checks, documentation, and emergency preparedness. Collaborate with the Head of Compliance to update policies and deliver training.

    • Community & Enrollment: Drive enrollment targets and family retention efforts. Lead community-building initiatives and develop programs that foster an exceptional parent experience and strong family partnerships.

    • Hold a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

    • Have 5+ years of relevant experience in early childhood education leadership

    • Possess NY State Teaching Certification

    • Are a skilled leader with a proven track record in managing teams and driving school operations

    • Have expertise in curriculum oversight and instructional leadership

    • Are knowledgeable about compliance requirements and comfortable managing health, safety, and licensing regulations

    • Thrive in building community and fostering positive relationships with families and staff

    Compensation & Benefits
    Our Assistant Head of School earn salaries from $82,000-$110,000 based on level of education and experience. Full time employees also receive benefits including tuition reimbursement, health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement savings, and commuter benefits.
