Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Controller to join our finance team. This critical role will lead the company’s accounting organization, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and prepare accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Reporting directly to Keith Candau, Chief Accounting Officer, the ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, a high proficiency in leveraging emerging accounting systems and solutions, and an ability to thrive in a scaling, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including timely monthly closings, overseeing efficient accounts payable, expense reports, and payroll processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Develop relevant internal financial reporting packages and reconciliations to aid in monthly reporting and controls compliance.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable technical accounting guidance, including Revenue Recognition, Leases, Internally Developed Software, and Stock Based Compensation.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
- Oversee the preparation of investor and Board of Director reports, actively working with Strategic Finance to ensure relevant metrics are presented.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Lead financial audits, and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Maintain compliance with tax and other reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes, financial systems, and reporting tools to streamline operations, maintain accuracy, and support scalability.
- Recruit, lead and mentor a growing accounting team, providing training, support, and professional development to ensure high performance and growth.
- Partner with senior leadership to analyze financial trends, provide insights for strategic decision-making, and help drive the company's financial planning and analysis efforts.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, and treasury operations, ensuring efficient financial management across the organization.
- Be a thought leader in the design, implementation, and continual improvement of our financial systems

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Previous experience in a startup or growth-stage company is a plus.
- Expertise in financial reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite, or similar ERP systems), proficiency with Excel, and Google Suite.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, and Financial Reporting standards.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with an ability to think strategically while handling complex, day-to-day operational challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Big 4 public auditing experience is a plus.
- Successfully designed, implemented, and optimized financial systems, including an ERP
- This is a hybrid opportunity available to candidates located in commutable distance to one of our offices either in New York, NY or Mountain View, CA. Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $190,000-$210,000 annually.
