Job Description

About the role

As the Director, Wholesale Planning & SOP, you will oversee a team of wholesale planners forecasting both in-season and pre-season plans as well as leading and executing the Spanx SOP process. This includes directing the demand forecast models using insights from sales, merchandising, marketing, finance, supply, and market intelligence. In the SOP process, this role will own the creation, facilitation, reconciliation, and execution of end-to-end process. Success in this role requires leadership, strong analytical skills, influencing, problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities. You’ll play a crucial role internally and externally, contributing to Spanx’s hyper-growth journey as a key member of the Planning Team.

This role is based in our Atlanta headquarters, requires weekly in-office work Tuesday-Thursday, and reports to our Vice President, Planning.

  • Lead, empower, and inspire a team of engaged wholesale demand planners building sales, stock, and margin plans for their respective accounts
  • Design, evolve, and execute SOP process that manages deliverables while maximizing revenue, margin, and inventory across the organization
  • Be the communication guru, ensuring clear and concise discussions, updates, and decisions are taking place across functional teams
  • Advocate for the consumer and customer, ensuring their experience and expectations are top of mind across the SOP process
  • Manage and develop demand forecasts across multiple aggregation levels, categories, and time horizons, delivering demand plans against gross, net, and inventory strategies
  • Create insightful metrics and comprehensive scorecards that turn data into action
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and seasonal hindsight analyses to uncover future opportunities, identifying product risks and opportunities down to size level
  • Simply complex concepts through process and capability improvements
  • Coach and lead for growth and development
  • Champion feedback and align with internal and external partners

Qualifications

We require...

  • 10+ years of relevant demand/merchandise planning across wholesale (preferred) and retail
  • Experience leading and directing SOP/IBP processes
  • A strong aptitude for working effectively in dynamic environments. This includes a proven ability to embrace new ideas and experiences, actively pursue learning opportunities, approach challenges with innovation and creativity, and contribute to and drive organizational change
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively persuade and influence others. A high level of confidence and ease in relating to others
  • Initiative, exercising personal leadership, providing direction, and taking responsibility
  • Proven focus on results, personal work goals, and objectives, coupled with a competitive drive for business and commitment to self-development and career advancement
