As we expand our footprint in clinical research, wellness partnerships, and healthcare ecosystems, we are seeking a Healthcare Communications Manager to help shape how our science, partnerships, and health impact are shared with the world.
The Healthcare Communications Manager will own the end-to-end communications strategy that positions ŌURA as a credible, ethical, and evidence-driven leader across healthcare, science, and public well-being. You will define the vision, set goals, and drive cross-functional execution that advances brand trust, clinical relevance, and ecosystem influence. You will partner closely with our science, medical, product, and policy teams to craft compelling narratives for stakeholders including researchers, healthcare professionals, press, and the broader health ecosystem.
This role sits at the intersection of scientific literacy, brand storytelling, and strategic communications — helping ensure that Oura is positioned as a credible, ethical, and impactful player in health innovation.
What you will do
Scientific & Clinical Communications
- Own the science-forward messaging architecture for clinical validation, research collaborations, and regulatory milestones; define key claims, proof points, and substantiation standards.
- Translate scientific studies, clinical collaborations, and research outcomes into clear, accessible content for external stakeholders.
- Support communications for Oura’s clinical validation work, regulatory initiatives, and academic research partnerships.
- Establish and maintain a single source of truth for healthcare messaging for use in press releases, whitepapers, keynote decks, and investor materials.
Strategic Healthcare Narrative
- Evolve thought leadership themes that position Oura as a trusted partner in preventive health, digital therapeutics, and evidence-based wellness.
Collaborate with medical advisors, external clinicians, and scientific partners to amplify thought leadership - Proactively monitor public health trends and policy shifts to shape responsive communication strategies.
Partnership & Ecosystem Communication
- Lead communications and messaging for strategic partnerships with health systems, researchers, payers, and more.
- Help position Oura within broader healthcare conversations
- Coordinate messaging across internal teams to ensure scientific accuracy and reputational alignment.
Risk Management
- Anticipate and address sensitive or high-risk health topics
- Work with legal and policy teams to ensure healthcare communications comply with relevant regulatory guidance
Internal Collaboration
- Provide internal teams (e.g., support, content, marketing) with healthcare messaging toolkits, clinical FAQs, and regulatory-compliant language.
- Serve as the central liaison between Science, Medical, Product, Comms, and Marketing to align on healthcare narratives and influence roadmaps with audience and regulatory insights.
This is a remote role, but the preference is West Coast Timezone
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- 5-8 years of experience crafting strategic communications in healthcare, medical technology, or scientific research environments
- Strong writing and editing capabilities
- Deep understanding of clinical research, healthcare systems, or digital health — with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible narratives
- Strong project management abilities and comfort working cross-functionally with scientists, legal/compliance teams, and executive leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with product launches and managing messaging across multiple channels (owned, earned, social).
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and are positive, solution-oriented, and flexible.
- Passion for wearable tech, health optimization, or science-backed wellness
- Domestic travel about once a month

Compensation
Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
- Region 1: $119,000- $140,000
- Region 2: $ $106,250-$125,000
- Region 3: $ $99,450 - $117,000
