We're looking for a Change Engineer (HW) to join our Operations team in San Francisco, US. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading the planning and execution of engineering changes to the manufacturing BOM and to the factories, which includes managing HW Product Data within the Oura Product Data Management system. Your mission will be to ensure every change adheres to the Oura Change Management process. You'll serve as the primary liaison for our manufacturing sites regarding all change management activities and documentation. You'll collaborate closely with our NPI team, Operational Program Management, R&D hardware teams, and other groups across HW/Operations/Supply Chain. Furthermore, you'll actively contribute to Product Data Management activities during the NPI phase.

To excel in this position, you must possess a strong command of Engineering Change Management principles and terminology, alongside deep knowledge of Product Data and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts, such as MFG BOM and Revision Management. As a part of the global Change Engineering Team, you’ll be the sole Change Engineer based in the US. You'll be expected to independently lead and drive change initiatives through the engineering change process during the whole product lifecycle. This requires a proactive nature to take ownership of the efficient change process flow. You should have a commitment to precision while also possessing the aptitude to grasp the big picture for effective change impact analysis. Familiarity with key business IT systems, such as PDM/PLM and ERP platforms, is essential.

An organized working style and a clear understanding of process-driven actions will set you up for success in this role. You must also communicate effectively within a peer environment to build a holistic view during engineering changes and when updating HW product data.

What you will do:

  • Execute the named responsibilities in ECM Process
    • ECR change investigation
    • ECN implementation planning
    • ECN/Waiver releases
    • Traceability data collection
  • Manage the HW product data in the NPI phases for Production Readiness
  • Assisting in operational PDM
  • Communicate Engineering Changes to the manufacturing sites
  • Establish yourself throughout the multi-functional Oura teams
  • Team up your key contacts in HW, in program management and in supply chain teams to drive Oura Product Data and Engineering Change Management processes

This is a US role with a preference for candidates based in San Francisco. We have an office in San Francisco for those who prefer hybrid or office settings.

Requirements

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management or related.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering change management, product data management, or similar.
  • Proficiency in item/BOM Management principles.
  • Problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Capacity for holistic thinking (integrating facts and details).
  • Cooperative, patient, and supportive demeanor.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication.
  • Willingness to travel to Finland for the initial training period.

We also appreciate it if you have prior experience in any of the following areas:

  • Teamcenter PDM/PLM and ERPs like NetSuite
  • Wearable consumer products
  • Working in an international environment

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $142,000 - $178,000
  • Region 2 $130,000 - $163,000
  • Region 3 $120,000 - $150,000
