We’re looking for a Mechanics Specialist to join our Core Science and Technology Team in Oulu. As an essential part of Oura’s Technology Team, you’ll take a hands-on role in early-phase technology studies and fast prototyping to explore and evaluate new technologies—and help integrate them into our existing and future products. You’ll play a key role in advancing product concepts from early prototypes to mass production and continuous improvement.
What You will do:
Your tasks include hands-on prototyping in our internal laboratory, creating mechanical concepts, and designing mechanical solutions for Oura products. You’ll also support production by collaborating with manufacturing partners and suppliers. This role includes independent management of selected mechanical development projects.
You will work in close collaboration with HW Engineering, Industrial Design, and Science teams to ensure the successful integration of new technologies into Oura’s products.
We would love to have You on our team, if You have:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role(s)
- Prior experience of product concepting and product mechanical design in product programs
- Innovative mindset and interest in the latest technologies
- Diligent way of working and ability to take initiative
- Good problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset
- Solid experience in product development, including concept creation, hands-on prototyping, and mechanical design
- Design skills with SolidWorks or similar 3d mechanics design SW
- Fluency in English to be able to cooperate with suppliers and partners from all around the world
- B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Mechanics or in another relevant field of study
We also appreciate, if you have:
- Experience with manufacturing processes for metal and plastic components
- Knowledge of glass materials and their use in product design
- Familiarity with coating, dispensing, or other surface treatment technologies
- Experience with CNC machining or a strong interest in learning it
- Experience working with external partners, such as suppliers or development collaborators
- FEM simulation experience is a strong plus. Direct hands-on skills are preferred
