THE ROLE

The Creative Operations Lead will serve as the operational backbone of Nécessaire's creative team, ensuring that projects move efficiently from brief to delivery and that productions are planned, budgeted, and executed to a high standard. This role sits where project management meets creative production, and is well-suited for someone who is equally comfortable planning a photoshoot as they are overseeing the workflow of a multifaceted creative team.

This role reports to the Executive Creative Director and is based in New York City. We require employees to work in the office near Union Square, Tuesday–Thursday.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Serve as the traffic manager for Nécessaire's creative function including receiving briefs from other functions, flagging missing information, assigning work to designers, and keeping a wide variety of projects on schedule.
  • Build and maintain production calendars, budgets, briefing templates, and project management infrastructure to keep the team organized and accountable.
  • Manage the creative team's workflow in project management software such as Monday.com or equivalent, ensuring visibility across all active projects.
  • Occasionally lead production logistics for small to medium photo or video shoots which could include various pre-production needs such as booking studios or coordinating with crew.
  • For larger productions, serve as the primary point of contact with outside production companies, managing timelines and keeping deliveries on schedule through post-production.
  • Work with leadership to track the creative production and resourcing budget, as well as to help process invoices and estimates.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and propose solutions that improve how the creative team works.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience spanning project management and creative production, ideally within a brand, agency, or in-house creative team.
  • Demonstrated experience managing photo or video productions end-to-end, from pre-production through final delivery.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; this role requires someone who brings structure without bureaucracy.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday or similar, and comfort building templates, workflows, and process documentation from scratch in tools like Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Familiarity with production budgets, vendor negotiations, and working with finance teams to process invoices and track spend.
  • Ability to read a brief critically and flag gaps before work begins.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with or within a beauty, skincare, or luxury brand.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and maintaining relationships with photographers, studios, production companies, and other creative partners; experience negotiating rates and managing contracts, and/or existing vendor relationships is a plus.

Salary range is $100,000-$150,000
