Moon Juice is seeking a Head of Creative to lead the strategic direction, development and execution of our brand’s creative expression across all consumer touchpoints. This role is responsible for defining the brand’s creative vision, guiding a multidisciplinary creative team and ensuring that all visual and verbal communications reflect the brand’s positioning, standards and long-term growth objectives.

Reporting to the VP of Masterbrand, this role combines creative leadership, team management and operational oversight to elevate the impact and consistency of the Moon Juice brand.

Role Overview

The Head of Creative is responsible for translating brand strategy into compelling creative direction across all channels, including digital, retail, packaging and brand storytelling. This role sets the creative vision, leads campaign concept development and oversees the execution of creative work produced by internal teams and external partners.

This leader will manage a team of designers and copywriters while ensuring that the brand’s visual identity, voice and storytelling remain cohesive and differentiated in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Brand Direction

  • Define and evolve the creative vision for the Moon Juice brand across all channels and consumer touchpoints.
  • Translate brand strategy into integrated creative concepts that support marketing campaigns, product launches, and brand storytelling.
  • Establish creative frameworks that guide the development of campaigns, content, and brand experiences.
  • Serve as the final approver for all creative work from the creative team to ensure alignment with brand standards and strategic objectives.

Brand Identity & Creative Standards

  • Lead the evolution of Moon Juice’s brand identity system, ensuring the brand remains distinctive, culturally relevant and consistent across platforms.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of visual and verbal brand standards.
  • Ensure alignment between design, copy and storytelling across all communications.
  • Protect and strengthen brand equity through disciplined creative direction and execution.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Manage and mentor a team that includes graphic designers and copywriters.
  • Provide clear direction, feedback and coaching to elevate the quality of creative output.
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding and development of creative talent as the team evolves.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing creative culture.

Campaign Concept Development

  • Lead the ideation and development of creative concepts for marketing campaigns, product launches and brand initiatives.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing and Growth Marketing teams to translate strategic objectives into impactful creative programs.
  • Guide the development of integrated campaign concepts spanning digital, social, retail, packaging and experiential channels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with senior leaders across the organization including CEO, Founder, Head of DTC, Brand Marketing, Product Innovation and Retail Sales to align creative strategy with business priorities.
  • Work closely with marketing leadership to ensure creative supports performance goals while maintaining strong brand storytelling.
  • Collaborate with product and innovation teams to ensure new launches are brought to market with compelling creative narratives.

External Partner Management

  • Identify and manage external creative partners including photographers, production teams, freelancers and agencies.
  • Lead creative brief development and ensure external partners deliver work aligned with brand standards and project goals.
  • Oversee creative production workflows across internal and external teams.

Creative Operations & Budget Management

  • Own and manage the annual creative budget, allocating resources across campaigns, production and brand initiatives.
  • Ensure creative work is delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Establish efficient creative processes that enable high-quality work while supporting the pace of the business.

Select Hands-On Creative Contribution

  • Contribute directly to creative development when appropriate, including concepting and occasional design direction.
  • Provide hands-on guidance during key brand moments such as major product launches, campaigns and brand initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in creative leadership roles within consumer brands, wellness, beauty or lifestyle industries.
  • Proven experience leading and managing multidisciplinary creative teams including designers and copywriters.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic brand thinking and campaign concept development.
  • Experience developing and evolving brand identity systems across multiple channels.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Experience managing creative production processes and working with external partners.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner effectively with cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Ability to balance creative excellence with operational discipline and budget management.
