As the Director, Internal Communications, you will lead and evolve our communication strategy. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to craft messages, develop communication plans, and ensure effective information delivery. This role is crucial in shaping our culture and engagement through impactful communication. You will be responsible for both building a communication strategy that scales with Maven’s growth and drives it forward.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Assess and evolve internal communication strategy to support Maven’s objectives
- Oversee content creation for internal channels, including company meetings, newsletters, & intranet
- Partner with people team, marketing, and other departments to ensure consistent communication across the organization
- Develop initiatives to drive Maven culture via employee engagement
- Measure and assess the effectiveness of internal communication programs and initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Manage and execute sensitive organizational communications process regarding employee departures and structural changes, ensuring messages are delivered with clarity and empathy
- Support key exec communications including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer
- Partner with exec comms writer to create clear and compelling messages
Experience & Skills
- 8+ years of experience in communications roles (bonus: have worked in fast-growing organization and/or political campaign)
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans
- Experience in both driving strategy while diving deep into execution with exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement long-term communication strategies
- Ability to manage change and adapt communication strategies as company scales
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop creative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
For candidates in NYC or CO, the salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000 per year. You may also be entitled to receive a bonus, stock options, and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
This role is only open to candidates in the NYC-metropolitan area and will require you to be in-office for 3 days each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). While flexibility will always be core to Maven’s policies, we also believe in the power of in-person connection. Our hybrid work policy was created with both principles in mind.
This role requires active work authorization in the US.
