Reporting to the VP of Finance & Chief of Staff to the CFO, the Associate Director of Strategic Finance will act as a key financial leader and strategic partner across the organization. In this role, you will bring financial rigor to decision-making, evaluate proposed product innovations, and build strategic business cases that guide investment and growth. This highly cross-functional role is ideal for a finance leader who combines rigorous financial analysis with a strong understanding of the business and a drive to help teams evaluate and advance high-impact initiatives. This is a full-time hybrid position with 3 days per week required in person in our NYC office.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with leaders across other functions to identify and evaluate high-priority strategic opportunities.

  • Translate open-ended business questions into structured analyses, financial models, and clear recommendations.

  • Build business cases and scenario analyses to assess expected revenue, costs, margin, investment needs, risks, and key assumptions.

  • Help leaders compare options and tradeoffs, including where to invest, how to sequence initiatives, and what outcomes would justify continued investment.

  • Lead financial workstreams for initiatives from early evaluation through decision-making and implementation planning.

  • Partner with Product teams to evaluate the financial and business impact of proposed features, product changes, and new offerings.

  • Model the expected impact of product initiatives on adoption, engagement, retention, revenue, costs, and margin.

  • Assess key assumptions and uncertainties in early-stage initiatives, using scenarios and sensitivity analysis to inform decisions.

  • Track results after launch and compare actual performance with the original business case to inform future investment decisions.

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to functional leaders, bringing financial rigor to decisions while understanding their business and operational context.

  • Communicate complex analyses in clear, concise recommendations for senior leaders.

  • Build strong working relationships across Finance and the broader company, influencing decisions through sound analysis and judgment.

  • Manage multiple high-priority workstreams, maintaining clear assumptions, timelines, and follow-through as business needs evolve.

What success looks like in this role:

  • Business leaders have timely, decision-ready financial analysis for important initiatives.

  • Strategic initiatives have clear business cases, key assumptions, expected outcomes, and measures of success.

  • Investment decisions reflect a stronger understanding of expected business impact and financial tradeoffs.

  • Senior leaders view Finance as an effective partner in shaping and advancing cross-functional priorities.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, corporate development, business development, consulting, investment banking or FP&A

  • Strong financial modeling skills, with demonstrated ability to build robust, flexible, and executive-ready models from ambiguous inputs across revenue, margins, unit economics, and scenario planning.

  • Strong commercial and strategic judgment, with the ability to evaluate not only what the model says, but what decision the business should make.

  • Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analysis into concise narratives, clear recommendations, and board / CFO-ready materials.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across Product, Business Operations, Technology, Operations, and Finance.

  • High degree of ownership and comfort with ambiguity; able to independently structure problems, define the analytical approach, identify required inputs, and drive workstreams to completion.

  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to embed AI tools into daily finance workflows (e.g., scenario building, ad hoc modeling, and research synthesis) to compress turnaround times, improve analytical depth, and give leverage to functional partners.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple competing priorities.
