About the role

We’re hiring an Account Executive to own and grow the Grüns business at Target. This role is the single threaded owner for everything that happens in that account, from buyer relationships to promo strategy to flawless execution. With new categories launching next year and our buyer set expanding, this hire is how we keep Target running clean, strategic, and scalable without breaking the team. You will be the person who turns insights into sell in stories, status meetings into strategy meetings, and promotional moments into measurable growth.

This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment - and also come together on a quarterly basis for amazing off-sites where we can connect IRL.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the day to day and long term growth of the Target business across store and digital, acting like a GM of the account.
  • Manage and deepen relationships with an expanded Target buyer set, ensuring all categories are supported with clarity, confidence, and strategic POV.
  • Establish a reliable monthly sales update cadence for buyers and internal leadership, translating performance into actionable insights.
  • Lead promo planning and recapping end to end, including building smarter grids, aligning with national programs, and improving ROI visibility.
  • Build a repeatable feature workflow that covers briefing, asset coordination, launch management, proof of execution, and post promo learning loops.
  • Maintain Target’s single source of truth across key dates, SKU setup, promo calendars, asset needs, and execution requirements.
  • Proactively generate a pipeline of incremental Target opportunities, including new items, placements, off shelf features, digital visibility, and category expansion.
  • Shift buyer conversations from transactional updates to opportunity led strategy, bringing insights and high conviction ideas to every touchpoint.
  • Drive cross functional alignment with Growth, Retention, Ops, and brokers to ensure strong execution.

We're looking for someone who:

  • 3+ years of CPG sales experience, with at least 2 years directly owning the Target account.
  • Understands Target economics, merchant expectations, category dynamics, and retail rhythms deeply.
  • Has a strong track record of developing and executing Target off shelf programs like features, endcaps, seasonal moments, and promo events.
  • Sharp with data and comfortable synthesizing SPINS, Nielsen, IRI, panel data, and POS into clear stories and decisions.
  • Has owned high stakes line reviews, negotiations, and presentations with Target merchant teams.
  • Fluent in Target systems like POL, item setup portals, Roundel, or comparable tools.
  • Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint or Google Sheets and Slides, able to build models, dashboards, and buyer ready decks.

Approach to the role:

  • You run the account like an owner, not a caretaker. Strategy, execution, and relationships all sit with you.
  • You are retailer obsessed and proactive, anticipating Target needs before they are said out loud.
  • You translate messy data into crisp, persuasive stories that unlock sell in and incremental growth.
  • You balance high level strategy with hands on follow through. Nothing is below you if it protects the business.
  • You thrive in fast growth ambiguity, move quickly, and still keep execution tight.
  • You push for what is right for the brand, confidently and respectfully, even when it is a hard conversation.

At Grüns, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package—grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is between $110,000-$120,000 depending on experience.
