Role:
As the Director of Talent Acquisition, you will join the People team to lead the strategy and execution of hiring at Function Health during a pivotal phase of growth. You’ll partner cross-functionally with leaders across the business to deeply understand their talent needs, drive full-cycle recruiting strategies, and ensure every candidate touchpoint reflects our mission and values. From building scalable hiring processes to developing a compelling employer brand, you’ll be responsible for attracting diverse, high-impact talent that propels Function’s mission forward.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is energized by ambiguity, and is passionate about creating inclusive and purpose-driven teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Build & Scale: Design and execute a scalable talent acquisition strategy to support rapid hiring across the organization.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing in-house recruiting team to support hiring volume and quality.
- Process Optimization: Develop structured, efficient, and inclusive recruiting processes, tools, and systems to drive hiring success and consistency.
- Employer Brand: Elevate Function Health’s employer brand through creative storytelling, thought leadership, and candidate engagement strategies.
- Data & Insights: Track and report on key talent metrics to inform strategic decisions and optimize pipeline performance.
- DEI Focus: Embed equity and inclusion into every stage of the recruiting lifecycle.
- Candidate Experience: Champion a thoughtful, white-glove candidate experience from first touch to offer acceptance.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Recruiting experience: 8+ years of progressive experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles scaling talent teams in high-growth environments (preferably in tech or health tech).
- Startup scaling expertise: Proven success designing and executing recruiting strategies for startups scaling from 100–500+ employees.
- Full-cycle hiring knowledge: Deep understanding of sourcing, assessment, and hiring best practices across technical and non-technical roles.
- Function-building experience: Experience building and managing a recruiting function from scratch, including tools, processes, and team development.
- Stakeholder influence: Strong business acumen and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Data fluency: Data-driven mindset with experience tracking and analyzing recruiting metrics.
- Leadership & collaboration: Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and team leadership skills.
- Mission alignment: Passionate about health, innovation, and building inclusive workplaces.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experiences:

- Experience recruiting in rapidly growing tech or health tech environments.
- Familiarity with ATS platforms (GEM, LI Recruiter) and sourcing tools.
