This role will assist in building out people processes with a newly formed people team. They will be responsible for maintaining employee records, owning the payroll function, assisting with benefits, supporting engagement initiatives, and maintaining compliance. The scope of this role will initially be focused on payroll, benefits, and compliance but has the opportunity to take on future employee engagement and culture projects. </span></div> <div><br></div> <h3><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></h3> <ul> <li><span>Process semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.</span></li> <li><span>Maintain employee records and assist in employee transitions (ie, promotions, transfers, etc).</span></li> <li><span>Evaluate current payroll related processes and make improvements as necessary.</span></li> <li><span>Manage timekeeping records, ensuring accuracy for semi-monthly payroll.</span></li> <li><span>Complete and/or assist in audits + filings related to payroll, benefits and compliance (5500, Non Discrimination Testing, etc)</span></li> <li><span>Manage LOAs (including FMLA, parental leave tracking, disability, state specific leaves, etc.)</span></li> <li><span>Involvement and administrative support in the development of our benefits programs. </span></li> <li><span>First POC for general HR and benefit related questions.</span></li> <li><span>Implement and manage employee stipend software and ensure timely reimbursements.</span></li> <li><span>Gather important people related metrics and regularly share with senior leadership.</span></li> <li><span>Complete employment verifications.</span></li> <li><span>Special Projects as needed.</span></li> </ul> <h3><br></h3> <h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li><span>3+ years in People Operations or a similar role. </span></li> <li><span>Demonstrated success in creating and implementing SOPs and scalable HR processes.</span></li> <li><span>Highly detail-oriented and has a ‘people-first’ lens when making decisions.</span></li> <li><span>Hands-on experience with HRIS systems and other HR tools (e.g., payroll software, applicant tracking systems).</span></li> <li><span>Possesses an understanding of employment laws and HR data compliance requirements.</span></li> <li><span>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</span></li> <li><span>Ideally, experience in a high-growth or startup environment.</span></li> </ul> <div><br></div> <div><em>At Function, we celebrate diversity and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
