What You’ll Do (Job Responsibilities)
- Reporting directly to the company’s General Counsel, you’ll be an working on an agile and nimble legal team and providing practical, solutions-oriented legal advice and guidance to Found’s key stakeholders
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for complex commercial contracts, including healthcare payor contracts, marketing contracts and provider agreements
- Overseeing auditing and monitoring of relevant laws and regulations affecting Found, including but not limited to the corporate practice of medicine laws, healthcare fraud and abuse laws, privacy and telehealth laws and regulations
- Staying up to date on industry standards, laws, and regulations, including data protection laws and regulations and refining and iterating on corporate compliance program as may be required
- Partnering with Found’s Privacy Officer and Security Officer to ensure effective data privacy and security practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Managing day-to-day administration of the compliance program
- Conducting annual reviews of the compliance program and reporting metrics and data sufficient to evaluate the program’s effectiveness
- Implementing annual risk assessment process to identify key areas of compliance risk
- Conducting timely and appropriate investigations of potential compliance issues; updating and consulting with leadership team on the results of investigations as may be necessary and appropriate
- Counseling medical, clinical, and cross-functional teams on legal and compliance-related matters, create action plans for improvement, recommend disciplinary actions for compliance violations in coordination with the People team
- Providing leadership and exhibit awareness and understanding of ethical principles consistent with Found’s mission, vision and values
- Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time
What You’ll Bring (Job Qualifications)
- Passion for working in a rapidly growing business with curiosity, humility, humor, and professionalism
- JD degree; member in good standing of at least 1 state bar or the District of Columbia
- Minimum of 6 years of health care regulatory and compliance experience
- Familiarity and working knowledge of corporate practice of medicine statutes, healthcare fraud and abuse laws, and other laws and regulations applicable to complex digital health company
- Solution oriented with the ability to think strategically and creatively in decision-making
- Strong interest in, and enthusiasm for, privacy law, health care issues and trends
- Basic knowledge in risk identification, risk assessment, controls development, training, monitoring, and reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-reliant and able to prioritize workload
- Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently and proactively and to develop creative solutions to meet the varied needs of internal stakeholders
