Position Overview
Daily Harvest is looking for a Purchasing Analyst to join our Sourcing team who is passionate about changing the food system and changing how people eat. We are looking for someone who is a critical thinker, process-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Purchasing Analyst will support ongoing operations and new product launches. This position will work closely with the Sourcing, Quality, and Innovation teams to ensure all information is available in a timely manner so that the finished product will be produced on time and new product launches will be successfully executed. The Purchasing Analyst will report directly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee raw material requirements & forecasts at our manufacturing facilities
- Place ingredient and packaging POs, and track inbounds for a disruption-free supply chain
- Manage ingredient inventory and storage at our partner facilities, including but not limited to aging costs, write off concerns, expiration, etc
- Share out inventory risk with Sourcing & Planning teams weekly
- Ensure manufacturing partners provide accurate and up to date information on inventory and yields
- Coordinate and manage transportation booking for ingredients with our transportation partners
- Ensure our ingredient and packaging suppliers are receiving accurate projections and business updates on a monthly basis
- Enter end of month inventory into NetSuite
- Ensure correct cost, supplier, case size, yields, availability, and specifications are being used for innovation, commercialization, contracting and continuous improvement.
- Update documentation packages for manufacturing sites (approved vendor lists, new/updated ingredient specifications, etc.)
- Work closely with the FSQA team to ensure supplier compliance
- Track and review ingredient level COAs to ensure vendors comply with Daily Harvest COA requirements
- Manage and maintain master sourcing tools, document and record SOPs, and train team on updates to support best processes for managing sourcing data
- Collaborate and support with data transfer and management for NetSuite
- Build and send quarterly pricing sheets to manufacturing partners
- Partner with accounting to ensure that monthly and quarterly pricing is reconciled accurately, in preparation of Budget vs Actuals review with operations leadership
- Approve invoices for purchasing as needed
- Partner with accounting to close month end books on time and accurately
- Assist with administrative & ad hoc tasks as required to meet the demands of the Sourcing team and facilitate the growth of the company
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Accounting or Finance is preferred or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in food manufacturing, preferably in supply chain or operations
- Advanced proficiency in analytical skills using Excel and data management tools
- Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities with minimal supervision. Uses time efficiently
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communications and oral presentation skills
- Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) and in an engaging manner with colleagues of various levels of experience and management
- Highly adaptable and flexible. Able to manage competing demands, deal with frequent change and unexpected events
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work
- Bias for action and drive to produce results
- Highly effective ability to collaborate, negotiate, influence and network with a wide range of diverse groups, including senior leadership, management, and vendors
- High level proficiency in computer applications and systems including Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $65,000 - 85,000. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
