Position Overview

The Daily Harvest Creative Director is an inspirational and strategic innovator and leader who helps shape the vision for how Daily Harvest continually elevates creative across customer touchpoints. You will oversee the implementation of that vision while managing a team of all-star creatives to bring wow to every deliverable and project.

Your work, background and inspiration are cutting-edge in terms of creativity. You look to fashion, design and cornerstones of culture to stay culturally relevant. You will bring this inspiration and taste-level to your oversight of the team, creating a culture of creative excellence for the brand. You are a wiz at getting buy-in and ensuring every project under your purview ladders up to the brand guidelines and business strategy.

You are experienced with multiple channels (i.e. digital, print, packaging, in-grocery, social, web, etc) and are able to oversee work in these areas. You are an experienced creative leader with the ability to encourage, give feedback, and set the vision for the creative team. You have a people-first mindest: someone who can set a clear vision, build bridges, connect dots and foster trust. You oversee the creative leadership managers and ensure the success of copy, design, photo, video and production. You have a background in working with project managers and are able to work closely with operations to find efficiencies, prioritize, and grow a team to scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the creative team by inspiring excellence, innovation and brand relevance. Provide direction and constructive feedback across the creative team.
  • Deliver concepts and creative that are full of innovative and a cool factor.
  • Manage the creative leaders and help them guide their functions, which include copy, design, photo, video and creative production.
  • Work with the senior director of creative operations to prioritize briefs and creative work and find efficiencies in creative workflow.
  • Work hands-on on campaigns, TV shoots and brand guidelines. Have the ability to roll up sleeves and jump into a project with the understanding of when to delegate.
  • Ensure work is of highest quality, reflects brand standards, and is on budget and on time
  • Oversee the continual evolution of the brand guidelines, ensuring all deliverables fall within its standards.
  • Provide creative quality control over concepts and execution, assessing creative work to ensure ideas are as powerful in reality as they are in concept
  • You set the tone for forward-thinking, positive, and an industry-leading creative organization infused with the brand vision
  • Work with the director of creative production to oversee the creative budget, with a proven ability to deliver excellence on modest budgets.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years relevant experience in an agency or an in-house creative team
  • A creative leader with a strong portfolio that demonstrates originality, a cool factor, and multi-disciplinary thinking
  • Strong understanding and experience with the creative process and how to evaluate creative output in design, art direction, and copy
  • Experienced in managing a department budget. This would include production savviness, knowing how to work within budgetary constraints.
  • A people-focused leader who can organize, motivate, and elevate the creative output and skills of the team. You are a strong manager who can demonstrate industry best practices when it comes to leading a department
  • Positive, self-motivated and have a growth mindset with an high EQ
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting under tight deadlines with strong project and time management skills
  • Eager to take on new challenges, introduce and implement new approaches and ideas, grow, test and learn
  • Creative energy, confidence, self-motivation
  • Excellent communication and organizational, both for your department and with peers
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively with a team
  • Impeccable attention to detail, building clean, well-prepared design files

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $161,250 - $186,250. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
