Bumble Inc. is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Product Data Science team - helping to uncover the drivers of member behaviour and optimise performance across our products. You’ll play a key role in driving business impact alongside product and engineering. Product Data Scientists operate across all stages of the product development lifecycle constantly looking for opportunities, providing actionable insights, and navigating trade-offs.
This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about applying analytical thinking to product problems. You’ll use SQL, Python, and statistical or machine learning techniques to uncover insights, build models, and make data accessible and actionable for product partners.
If you’re curious, commercially minded, and thrive in a collaborative environment where data drives decisions, we’d love to hear from you.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Be an analytical thought partner to a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers and designers. This will include providing analytical support across all areas of the product development lifecycle, from ideation and broad product strategy to analytical deep dives and experimentation.
  • Work cross-functionally to track events in the app, understanding which events are critical to understanding user behaviour.
  • Provide actionable insights on product strategy to your stakeholders, automating decision-making where applicable and providing tools and solutions that help enable self-service and scalability.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, regression, classification) to support segmentation, and performance diagnostics.
  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, commercially relevant insights and recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Contribute to data quality related to the domain, proactively working with Data and Analytics Engineering and other teams to improve data collection and modelling.
  • Create an environment of utilising data for planning and execution, always keeping in mind alternative and creative solutions to performance measurement across a variety of product initiatives.

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in Product Data Science/Analytics, being able to elaborate on the business impact you have driven in your previous experience.
  • Preference for experience working on similar dating/social/gaming tech products or high-data-volume platform businesses.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
  • Experience applying machine learning or statistical methods to real-world business problems (e.g., clustering, regression, or propensity modeling).
  • Proven ability to connect analytics to commercial outcomes - you think in terms of impact, trade-offs, and growth opportunities.
  • Skilled in data visualisation and storytelling, using tools such as Looker, Tableau.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and translate analytical findings into business language.
  • A collaborative problem-solver with a curiosity for understanding how data influences business performance.
  • Comfort in operating in ambiguous and complex problem spaces, and helping product teams define hypotheses for optimisation. Confident in pushing back and saying no where needed.

AI in Bumble Inc. Hiring
At Bumble, we may use AI tools to support parts of our recruitment process — such as helping us record, transcribe, and summarize conversations, and supporting job alignment by comparing resumes and job descriptions to highlight skills and potential roles that may be a good match. Participation in AI-supported interviews and conversations is completely voluntary and will not impact your candidacy. If you’d prefer to opt out, simply let your recruiter or interviewer know at the start of a call, or anytime during the interview or conversation. Summaries and related data are retained only as long as needed in line with our internal data retention policies. If at any point you’d like a transcription or summary deleted, please contact your recruiter directly.
