Bumble is looking for a resourceful and proactive Manager to support our Public Policy and Corporate Communications functions. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in strategic communications, a keen understanding of public affairs, and the ability to deliver under pressure. You’ll play a key role in helping Bumble navigate complex communications challenges, from real-time issue management to executive visibility and policy engagement. This is a highly cross-functional position that requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across time zones and teams.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Crisis & Issues Management
- Support real-time responses to sensitive or high-stakes issues by drafting statements, FAQs, holding lines, and briefing materials.
- Monitor media, regulatory, and policy landscapes for emerging risks and flag them to the team proactively, while recommending proactive measures.
- Help maintain and regularly update internal processes, including crisis playbooks, response protocols, and escalation pathways.
- Coordinate with legal, policy, and other internal partners to ensure accurate and timely messaging during critical moments. Bring experience in managing media face-to-face, including handling press inquiries and interviews, and navigating media relations effectively during crisis situations.
- Executive Thought Leadership
- Research and recommend relevant media, policy, or industry opportunities for Bumble leaders to engage in.
- Help ensure all executive communications reflect Bumble’s brand tone, mission, and values.
- Policy & Advocacy Communications
- Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and societal developments that impact Bumble’s mission.
- Prepare clear, strategic briefings and policy summaries for senior leadership, comms, and cross-functional teams to inform positioning and engagement.
- Craft accessible and compelling communications that translate complex policy and social issues for diverse audiences.
- Support the development and execution of public affairs and advocacy campaigns, in partnership with internal teams (e.g. Legal, Social Impact, Product & Tech) and external collaborators.
KEY SKILLS
- Crisis and Risk Communication: Able to support rapid-response efforts with clear, accurate messaging during high-stakes or sensitive issues.
- Executive Content Development: Skilled in writing speeches, talking points, and thought leadership content that aligns with brand and executive voice.
- Policy Monitoring and Briefing: Capable of tracking legislative, regulatory, and social trends and translating them into clear, actionable insights.
- Strategic Messaging: Strong writer with experience crafting impactful, audience-specific narratives across media, policy, and advocacy channels.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experienced in coordinating across comms, legal, policy, and product teams to deliver aligned messaging and strategy.
ABOUT YOU
- 4–7 years of experience in communications, public policy, government affairs, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of media relations, corporate communications, or public affairs in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or executing crisis/issue communications.
- Exceptional writing skills, with experience crafting content for senior leaders or external audiences.
- A strong interest in tech, social impact, public policy, or advocacy communications.
- Ability to work independently while staying closely aligned with a collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Prior experience in highly regulated or complex industries (e.g., tech, government, legal, or public sector) is a plus.
