With the all-new BFF app, we’re reimagining how people form friendships, discover community, and share experiences. From matchmaking to communities, events, and shared moments, BFF is where people can truly find their people.
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our BFF Design team. This role is central to shaping how millions discover and grow meaningful friendships. You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, and research to craft experiences that feel warm, human, and delightful—and you’ll set the bar for design craft across the team.
What You'll Do:
- Lead product design across BFF features: from concept through launch, you’ll define the vision, explore complex problem spaces, and shape elegant solutions that scale.
- Champion the user: bring insights from research, product data, and your own design intuition to guide decisions and ensure user needs are at the heart of every solution.
- Collaborate deeply with partners: work side-by-side with engineers and product managers to align on strategy, define roadmaps, and ship meaningful work.
- Mentor and inspire: help shape the culture of the design team by guiding junior designers and fostering a collaborative, curious environment.
- Elevate our design system: expand and evolve the BFF design system to ensure consistency while leaving room for creativity and play.
- Design across fidelity: know when to sketch quickly, when to prototype, and when to polish with pixel-perfect detail.
- Experiment and innovate: leverage new tools (including AI-powered ones) to push our design process forward and ship smarter, faster.
About You:
- 8+ years of hands-on product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile apps or consumer digital products.
- Demonstrated expertise across the full design process—from user flows and interaction design to polished UI.
- Exceptional visual design skills and a strong grasp of UX principles, typography, and interaction design.
- Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools; comfortable exploring ideas at both lo-fi and hi-fi levels.
- Clear communicator who invites critique and collaboration while influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- A balance of craft excellence and pragmatism—you sweat the details but know when to ship.
An Added Bonus If You Have:
- Experience mentoring or managing early-career designers.
- Background in consumer tech, fast-paced startups, or product-focused agencies.
- Familiarity with design systems, multi-platform design (iOS, Android, web), or conducting/participating in user research.
- A strong understanding of engineering workflows and principles.
Kind, curious, and low-ego designers thrive at Bumble. If you’re excited to shape how people around the world make friendships and find belonging, we’d love to hear from you.

AI in Bumble Hiring
At Bumble Inc., we may use AI tools to support parts of our recruitment process — such as helping us transcribe and summarize conversations, and supporting job alignment by comparing resumes and job descriptions to highlight skills and potential roles that may be a good match. These tools help us work more efficiently and stay focused on you during our conversations. Importantly, all hiring decisions are made by people. AI is used only to support our team’s efficiency and improve the candidate experience — not to evaluate or decide on your candidacy. Participation in AI-supported interviews and conversations is completely voluntary and will not impact your candidacy. If you’d prefer to opt out, simply let your recruiter know before or during the interview or conversation. Summaries and related data are retained only as long as needed in line with our internal data retention policies. If at any point you’d like a transcription or summary deleted, please contact your recruiter directly.
