The Role:
As the Vice President of Retail Sales, you will spearhead Blueland’s disruptive growth in retail, which has been identified as the Company’s #1 priority and largest opportunity in the coming years. This is a unique opportunity to change the landscape of Home Essentials and Personal Care on retail shelves, making it easy for people to make sustainable choices with Blueland’s innovative products that prioritize people and the planet. The Vice President of Retail Sales will have primary responsibility for all sales and trade / retail marketing activities. They will be tasked with generating profitable top-line in retail, implementing best-in-class selling practices, managing trade / retail marketing spend and SG&A to effectively deliver annual operating goals, and a multi-year strategic growth plan. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sustainable revenue targets, expand market share and profitability
  • Develop category sales stories that are anchored in analysis and consumer insight
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retail partners to maximize sales opportunities and foster long-term partnerships
  • Drive sell-through, velocity, and distribution in key accounts across club, mass, and grocery
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and KPIs to track performance and drive accountability within the sales organization
  • Manage all trade and retail marketing spend to drive ROI and allocate SG&A effectively to deliver against budgeted targets
  • Influence marketing spending across the organization to help drive customer performance
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure that commercial strategies consistently and appropriately model the brand and align with the vision—across all touchpoints and distribution channels
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, support, and coaching to drive results and exceed sales goals
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive work environment where all team members feel valued, respected, and supported

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have started their career in a large, well-respected company, but successfully transitioned to a high-growth, entrepreneurial opportunity. This leader should have a proven track record of scaling a sub $100M CPG business to profitable growth through retail channels. Stylistically, the Vice President of Retail Sales should be a dynamic, collaborative, proactive, and resourceful leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and inspires high-performing teams.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year.
