Electrical Engineering Lab Manager IV is an integral role as part of a team of engineers and scientists developing a novel intradermal biosensor technology, requiring extensive knowledge of electrical engineering lab equipment specification, calibration, use and maintenance procedures, as well as working knowledge of surface mount manual soldering techniques, schematic entry, PCB layout and mechanical CAD principles and techniques. In this role you will actively contribute to product design, development and validation efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee every aspect of the Electronics lab, including ordering, documentation, and maintenance of electrical test equipment, managing R&D electronic component inventory, keeping the lab organized and safe.
  • Support electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers with design, test and prototyping projects.
  • Support manufacturing processes with electro-mechanical
  • Run engineering tests, record data, and document test results for reports.
  • Work with R&D to optimize existing and design new fixtures to support evolving needs, at electrical, mechanical, and system levels.
  • Work with suppliers for packaging, circuit board assembly, and mechanical fabrication.
  • Fabricate prototypes and fixtures using 3D printers, machine shop, and hand tools.
  • Solder components for product prototyping and test fixtures.
  • Track and troubleshoot device observations returned from various clinical studies.
  • Develop new testing and fabrication capabilities by learning how to best use specialized equipment.
  • Manage the activity of other lab technicians as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • At least 12 years’ experience as a technician supporting engineering activities.
  • Highly motivated self-learner with a positive attitude.
  • Organized and detail-oriented disposition.
  • Ability to interface with a wide range of people and work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD software, electrical and mechanical tools and test equipment.
  • Experience with electromechanical fixture design, development and validation.
  • Strong experience with reflow soldering, especially applied to ICs and surface-mount components.
  • Experience testing products and generating test reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Comfortable running test scripts on Windows command line.
  • Experience with Altium Schematic & PCB design tools.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Associates or other technical degree preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. As part of our efforts to ensure fair and equal pay based on merit, Biolinq supports pay transparency internally and during the recruitment process. The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this role is: $75,000 to $100,000 per year. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Actual compensation packages are commensurate with experience and based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including, but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, education, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the job across the U.S. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans. Biolinq also offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick time, parental leave), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and any written agreement between the parties.
