The Role:
The Strategy & Operations team at Amae plays a critical role in driving the programs and systems that support delivery of excellent care to individuals with severe mental illness. The Strategy & Operations function is accountable for driving initiatives across a variety of business needs, including new market and service launches, business intelligence, and operational excellence. Highly cross-functional, this role will work across a diverse range of teams and functions at Amae health, leveraging complex problem solving skills in a growth oriented organization.
What You Will Work On:
Program Development & Operational Excellence
Own the creation, rollout, and ongoing refinement of projects that support day-to-day behavioral health delivery. Build structured workflows, playbooks, and feedback loops that ensure teams have what they need to provide consistent, high-quality care. Partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify bottlenecks and gaps, then design solutions that scale across markets.
Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
Use data, user feedback, and operational insights to evaluate program performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Translate findings into structured improvement initiatives, complete with project plans, clear owners, and measurable outcomes. Institutionalize improvements by integrating them into standard operating procedures, training materials, and core systems.
Cross-Functional Execution & Change Management
Drive alignment across clinical, operations, product, and leadership teams to ensure programs are implemented smoothly and sustainably. Lead communication, training, and rollout plans for new initiatives, helping teams adopt new processes with clarity and confidence.
About You:
You are an operator who thrives in high-growth environments and can lead through change. You know what “good” looks like, what makes the business tick, and take pride in driving systems and programs that provide care that exceeds expectations. You’re results-oriented, have experience defining and developing initiatives from the ground up, and are adept at navigating the ambiguity that comes with an early stage startup. High EQ and low ego, you are equally at ease influencing, leading, or doing, and enjoy working with a team that does the same. What You’ll Have:
- 3+ years of experience within private equity management consulting; investment banking; venture capital or within a healthcare organization (startup or larger organization) driving initiatives, projects or programs from ideation to implementation
- Scrappy, self-starter mindset who vigorously looks for ways to grow an early-stage company
- Proven experience structuring and leading projects to drive successful outcomes
- Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques including high proficiency in Microsoft excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in a startup and/or entrepreneurial environment, with ability to thrive in a fast-paced culture, growing 0-1
- Passion and interest for the mental health space
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- This role is located in San Francisco in office 5 days a week

Amae Health is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
Base salary range for this role is $119,000 to $161,000 per year based on a full-time schedule and the compensation package will include equity. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate's experience and professional leveling and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. These factors include, but are not limited to, job related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications, degrees, licensures, and specific work location.
