Join us in building the next generation of personalized neuroscience-based therapeutics.Primary RoleReporting to the Head of HR, the Human Resources Operations Manager will help elevate our HR infrastructure amid rapid company growth. In this strategic and high-profile role, you will streamline HR processes, enhance the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, and manage our HR compliance program. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a best-in-class employee experience, has a knack for improving systems and processes, keen attention to detail and thrives in an exciting fast-paced environment. They are a data-driven operations expert with deep knowledge of HR best practices, HR systems and platforms, and are excited to scale people operations in a growing organization.What you'll doHR Operations & SystemsChampion, lead and optimize HR processes across the full employee lifecycle (onboarding ? offboarding)Manage HR systems (PEO/HRIS, ATS, LMS, payroll), ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and complianceProactively anticipate and conduct regular HR and payroll data audits and management reportingEmployee Lifecycle & ExperienceLead onboarding, offboarding, and employee transitions for employees and contractorsCreate and deliver exceptional employee support while maintaining strict confidentialityLead benefits selection and administration and other related health/welfare programsCompliance, Data & AnalyticsDrive HR data management including compensation analysis, equity strategies, and demographic analysisPartner with Legal on facilitating visa and immigration processesEnsure compliant, accurate employee recordsTake the lead in auditing and delivering data requests working in tandem with Finance colleaguesCompensation, Performance & DevelopmentCreate compensation equity reviews, coordinate a total compensation strategy, and advise on organizational changesCreate new approaches for performance management and career development designCross-Functional PartnershipPartner with Finance, Legal, IT, and Talent Acquisition to streamline HR operationsLead talent acquisitions strategies as needed, including assessment and interview coordinationLocationOnsite- Mountain View, CASalary Range$125,000- $150,000*depending on qualifications and experience levelQualificationsRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree and 5–8+ years of progressive People/HR Operations experiencePrior experience in a high-growth startup environment (required)Experience in Biotech and/or Life Sciences (a big plus)Proven ability to design and scale HR processes and systems across a distributed workforceStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracyProficiency with HRIS, ATS, LMS, payroll systems, and modern collaboration toolsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience managing confidential information with integrity and discretionWorking knowledge of multi-state and federal employment laws, with California expertise preferredProactive, nimble, hands-on, and results-oriented mindsetComfortable supporting remote teams and collaborating cross-functionallyStrong cultural contributor with a “we-before-me” approach and commitment to continuous learningAlto Neuroscience is an equal-opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, color, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
